Money.
The root of all evil right?
Well maybe in some cases. In my case it's disappoint and sadness. The value of money has gone down so much. You just can't buy stuff like you use to. Life is hard. Pressure to get a job and start thinking about my future is thick as molasses in my head.
I feel weighed down by money. If my family wants to go somewhere it's going to cost us an arm and leg just in gas to get there and back.
I feel I am obligated to fix this. To do something great and earn enough money to reassure my family. To not have to worry about bills and if we can afford this or that.
I want to do something I love though. I want to create poems and books. Take pictures. Act.
I want to accomplish my dreams and make money at it!
Sounds like every ones' dream?
Yeah, probably.
Think my chances our slim?
Maybe.
Think I can't do it?
Oh but I can.
Why am I so great?
Because I follow my heart. And I belief.

-Greenness-

Can you guess the food of the day?

Its Avocados!

Yummy goodness all wrapped up in a green peeling- my favorite color!

  • Avocados are high in fat so don't eat too many of them- unless of course you want to gain weight or just don't care.
  • They contain more Potassium than bananas!
  • More protein packed than any other fruit
  • There's more than 500 different varieties!
  • Good source of Vitamin E
  • anti-oxidants
  • And makes a great treatment for dry hair <:)

Earth Balance Better- i mean butter

I recently discovered Earth Balance Soy Garden Butter and let me just say that its freaking awesome!
I don't use it that often so a container of it lasts me a long time.

It takes exactly like normal butter-I will actually say better than milk butter- and is smooth. Pleasently easy to spread on toast.

Here is Earthbalance.net's info on my fav vegan butter:

Crushed Whole Soybeans
No Hydrogenated Oil
Non-GMO Ingredients
No Trans-Fatty Acids
All Natural (NO PRESERVATIVES)
Lactose Free
Gluten Free
100% Vegan =D
Superb for Baking and Frying
Helps Improve HDL/LDL Cholesterol Ratio!

Silly Lilly

This is me and my baby niece Lillian Rae :0)

I love her sooo much!

What a vegan named Annabell would eat on normal day:
Breakfast: A small banana-p-nut butter-soymilk-carob smoothie and coucous
Lunch: Salad with lettuce straight from the garden and a cornbread muffin
Dinner: Oatmeal with sugar, soymilk, and dried fruit, almonds
S: fruit
I really need to go shopping...its been like forever and I have a bunch of money in the bank just waiting to be spent on yummy vegan goodies!
I need more protein. Perhaps I should buy some tofu when I get to go to the health store?

A day in a field with some haybails, my cousin Austin, my best doggie friends Ally & Ben, and my daddy raking up some more hay in his tractor is a great day.

The simple things- no matter the time spent doing them- seem to linger longer in my heart

-great shot Austin!-

Teen Preggies

You've probably heard the news about the alarming number of teens getting pregnant. If not..what cardboard box are you living in? :)
Well do you know that they are blaming the movies like Juno and Knocked Up!
What a bunch of BS!
I truly think that society has become so "bendable" and sways to every piece of information or lifestyle shoved in front of their faces. But you can't go blaming the movies. I saw Juno and I don't think it glorified pregnancy at all. Neither did Knocked Up.
Teenage pregnancy seems to be getting more and more common these days and because of that girls don't fear getting pregnant as much. They can just give the baby up for adoption like Juno did. Or they think hey me and the daddy will fall in love like the couple in Knocked Up.
Its not the movies fault at all and I don't see why they have to put up someone else for the blame. It's not Jaime Lyn Spears fault teens are getting pregnant.
Girls are having sex- that's the issue. Guys want sex. And these days the age of girls having babies are just getting lower and lower.
There will always be movies and movies are not real life.
And teens will continue to have sex and continue to get pregnant with or without the movies.
That's real life, no blaming the movies or celebs....Its those darn horny teen boys!

My big sis April had her baby at 19 years old. Almost not a teen...but still

Eco Living

Lets talk about eco living or the new cool term green living.

I've cared about my impact on the earth for a few years now and it was a bit strange when all of the world started all this green trip, but I find it as a wonderful thing for more people to start caring. But at times I do get..frustrated seeing people wearing shirts that say great things like Recycle, Save the Whales, Save water-get dirty, ect ect.

But I cannot help ask myself: do they actually try and do all these things their shirts are showcasing? I sure hope so.

I wonder if they're just wearing these shirts because of all the radness about being green and they don't do anything different in their lifestyles.

But perhaps they are very green and are trying to spread the news of the eco lifestyle!

So to all the people of the world: Wear it and mean it

my tree house dream

I want to live in a tree house someday. A real house and all- but in a tree.

Did you know that the term tree house means a house people actually live in and not what people play in. That is known as a tree fort.

Oh how I wish these boots would magically appear on my feet! I would have so ordered them weeks ago but they aren't in my size. So if you are a 5.5 or 6.5 (U.S sizes) enjoy.

my ode to red hair

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
This is my ode to red hair:

A head of flames so brightly red
Because of a genetic mutation I read

So easy to spot red hair in a crowd
But so hard for people not to be wowed

And it's not just the hair- its the spirit inside
The crazy amount of pride supplied

No need to hide those firery locks
Because lots of people think that being red headed rocks

Its a gift to be so unique
To have hair considered quite chic

The Weasleys worked treases that were a flame
And just look at their growing fame

Natural redheads embrace that hair
And others who aren't find your own personal flare

That was a lot of fun!
If you are looking for a great red hair dye I suggest using Henna. Its completly safe for your hair and does not damage it one bit- it acutally enhances its beauty. Its my miracle hair dye. I had red hair already but it just wasn't as bright as I had always dreamed of. So I just slathered the messy muddy goop that is henna on for 3 and a half hours (natural ways aren't always easier but the result is totally worth it) and tada: bright red hair! But henna cannot lighten and only adds a red sheen to really dark hair. You'd have to lighten it before applying henna to get a bright red. Oh and use only body art quality henna, BAQ, because other "fake" hennas can do bad stuff to your hair. The hennaforhair site will tell you everything you need to know about henna!
There's all heeps of info about henna and other natural hair dyes here: http://www.hennaforhair.com/
Thanks for reading my poem and I hope you enjoyed your stay

my love of health/natural food stores

I live 30 minutes from the closest town and it's a very little town. But it does have one health store so its not so bad. Well anway I just want to express how much love I have for health stores.
I hardly ever get to go to them though :( -With the price of gas and the fact that I can't legally drive by myself yet- I just can't go as much as I wish I could.
When I do get to go I feel so happy surrounded by all the herbs and spices, the fresh organic fruits and veggies, and all kinds of vegan goodies I only see on online stores!
Health stores seem much more "from the heart" than any other store. Generic food stores do not have as much personalitly, or at least to me they don't.
Maybe someday I'll own a health store of my own. I think I'd call it HippieAdventures, since I really like hippieness and adventures ;-)

Hello

Welcome to my blog. I am a red haired, freckled, vegan, hippie...all rolled into one.."I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother, I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I do not feel ashamed I'm your hell, I'm your dream I'm nothing in between You know you wouldn't want it any other way So take me as I am"
oh I am sorry for my outburst but I do love that song! Its by Alanis Morissette incase you don't know

this is the start of a very spetacualar blog I named annabellthehippie...well ok its not so great but it is in the part where I actually was capable of putting it together right. So yes in a way this page is very-very amazing.
I love blogs. Something just sparks inside of me when I get to read about another's life! Ok I have scored a point for being a total weirdo. But since you are here you probably understand.
I just wanted to say hi but I will be back to post more of my adventures!
