This fruit storage/herb grower is beautiful! Wouldn't it be so charming hanging in a bright kitchen window?

These last two are by Bailey. And the tree one with the houses is mine.

Movie Day

Pretty much every Sunday afternoon I go to the historic Opera House in Eldo Rado Springs Missouri. They only play one movie a weekend but it's fun and only 20 or so minutes from my house (the closest movie theater). This week it's the probably-not-gonna-be-that-great-but-stupidly-funny movie called The Back Up Plan. Let's hope it is not a total waste of money- and time. My sister and/or Mom may come along. It's nice to escape into a cold movie theater when it's really hot and humid outside. Sometimes it really doesn't matter what the movie is all long as it gets you out of the stuffy house!

An interesting lunch; an almond butter sandwich with jalapeno applesauce. I liked it.

Where to go, where to go?

Since there is only 1 and 1/2 days left of this school year my future has really been buzzing around in my brain. I don't know what college I want to attend. Here are my 3 main choices:
Missouri(No out of state tuition)

Seattle
(Lots of vegan goodness and clouds)

California
(Pleasant weather and vegan choice. Expensive)

I can't wait for this book

For those of you who may not know what The Hunger Games is about I'll explain. The book is set in the future where the government of North America has absolute power. They hold a gladiator like competition every year where children, yes little children must fight to the death. A boy and girl from each of the 12 districts must submit their names at least once- although some can enter more in order to receive more food- i.e. Hunger Games.
The main character Katniss Everdeen faces extreme pain and obstacles in this story. But she also discovered true friendship, courage, and humanity. This book is a great adventure and will pull you in from page one. You will fall in love with the rough and tumble Gale, the sweet but powerful Pita, little Rue, and all the other well developed characters. Seriously. This is a good book.
And there are even 2 sequels ( Mockingjay comes out sometime in June):
Zoom Zoom.

I am almost a senior

Morning meal and a funny story

Crunchy cereal and hot tea.

Funny story time
Last night my dad was mowing and since its been raining so much the ground is mushy and sinky (and green). He eventually got stuck. Not a huge deal right?
Well he attempted to get it out by use of his pick-up truck. That got stuck too. I'm sure he was fairly mad by now, surprise, surprise.
Next he tried the tractor. And that got stuck in the darn yard too. Big deal now.
So Mom drove him into town to get the manly-man truck with power. And yes. That got stuck with all the other vehicles. As you can probably assume my dad was feeling pretty mad by now. And they are all stuck sitting in the yard, but at least they aren't lonely.
I am sure he will perk up when he gets at least one of his means of transportation out of the mud.
I guess life can sometimes be a stick, or mower, in the mud.

5 facts

Firstly I should just say that my face looks weird but I liked my braid so I picked this picture...I hope your not affended too much.
Anyways

5 FACTS ABOUT ME, THE LADY OF CLOUD VEGAN

1.   I have lived in Missouri since I was a wee two year old.

2. I have a border collie named Ally, a beagle named Lincoln, and a pug named Hoodie. When we all go for a run/mostly walk it looks so funny because it's such a random mix of dogs.

3.   I have never had a vegan doughnut- tear, tear. But someday soon I will!
4.  I have 3 siblings; Josh, Stephanie, and April. I am the youngest.
5.  I live in the middle of no where, down 5 miles of dirt road and about 20 minutes from town. Sure it's pretty insanely boring, but it is such a huge part of who I am and how I grew up. I ran wild with messy hair and bare feet. I rode horses all day long and was free. I'm glad to be a homegrown, wind in my hair, barefoot kind of girl. But boy am I ready to graduate and experince the city-wherever that may be.

Last Night's Dinner

Quinoa is a grain-like thing. It is pretty high in protein, and as a Cloud Vegan I need my energy. I use to never pronounce it correctly- it goes keen-wah....
Anyway this is what I had for dinner the other day.

Gardein is a god-send.Seriously this stuff tastes just like the miserably sad, "real" stuff. It has whole grains like buckwheat and could fool someone into actually eating something vegan. Ha ha.

This looks a hot mess. But it was pretty dang good.

After school snack

Are you for cereal?

One more week

Good morning. It's Monday. But there's only one more week left of school. Then I'll have my life back. Tea will get me through it.

T         Makes me happy!

I might be strange but I like to use a coffee pot to brew my tea. I just plop my tea bag where the coffee stuff goes and ta-da, I have perfectly dark tea. How do you like to make your tea? If you drink it of course.

Who's your friend?

 Hoodie.
So Cute

Now I understand

Finally. My local store has daiya cheese. All is good in the world

Saturday Morning

Breakfast on the road.
Okay. How the heck can I find the words to describe my love for this thing. It was nutty, fruity, chocolaty, and oh-so-great.  Seriously you should pick one of these up the second you can- they are that good. I'm not sure how much this bar cost since my food is the one thing I don't penny-pinch on. But for the amount of calories (like 380 if you eat it all like I did), taste (amazing), and its a pretty hefty size (not one of those teeny tiny baby bars) I'd say its a steal.

Then I just had to get my beloved, once in a good while, caramel latte. This one was made with rice milk and although I usually go for soy or almond, it was a really lovely choice. Usually I stick with my black tea and agave- but a frothy coffee drink now and then is how I seize the day. Or at least the morning. Carpe Diem coffee lovers!

What I had for dinner

Vegan findings for the day

An avocado-raw pudding that tasted a bit too much like avocado for my taste. But a little bit was pretty yummy. I dub this one...different. Then below is a Stacy's pita chip.

This weekend!

Today feels like Friday and that feeling is rather sad because it is not. But no worriers, for tomorrow my mom and I are taking off early to go to our friend's high school graduation. I hope to get plenty of pictures of some good vegan food I hope to find at Mama Jeans. Its a good thing we get to through Springfield because our friends' house is in a super non-veg place. I have to find something for dinner that day, snacks, and tomorrow's breakfast. Hope I have some good old fun! Now I think I shall go take a much needed bubble bath. Hey, its been a loooong day.

A usual school lunch and Shane

Smoked tofu, spinach, artichoke, "mayo" wrap. With some Odwalla juice. With two dried figs for something sweet.

And Shane...
